ISO Speed in photography is a term used to measure the level film sensitivity to light (in the photographic film). While in Digital Photography, ISO Speed is the sensitivity of the image sensor.
ISO Speed in the digital camera is marked with the numbers 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000, and so on. The darker the situation will requires higher ISO setting (800, 1000, etc.) to get a faster shutter speed and will affect noisier shot.
Here is a comparison images that I took by my Nikon D200 with several ISO settings. You can see the different result.
ISO 100
ISO 200
ISO 400
ISO 800
ISO 1000
ISO 1600
ISO 3200
Try it! Practice more to get better result.
